Last Wednesday, I came down with what I initially thought was a plain old cold. Felt really lousy by the time I got home from work, so I basically went to bed right after supper, hoping to sleep the darn thing off. By the time morning arrived, it was pretty obvious that hadn't worked (I went from chills to sweating like I was in a sauna). Since I was supposed to be meeting my supervisor at a remote location, I managed to drag myself off to work. Got the remote location stuff done & went home at noon, with my boss's blessing (she sure didn't want to catch whatever I had). Got home, ate lunch, went to bed. Slept off and on all afternoon, evening, and night. Fever, chills, sore throat, earache, runny nose, and, by morning, a cough too. Called in sick (first full sick day in the six years I've worked at my current place of employment) and headed off to the clinic. Two hours after I walked in the doors, I walked out with antibiotics, a nasal spray, and Advil Cold & Sinus. Went home, went back to bed. Spent most of the weekend sleeping or trying (with absolutely no success whatsoever) to concentrate enough to write. Back at work today; hopefully I can make it all day without a nap.

I hate taking antibiotics - the side effects (nausea, lightheadedness, sleepiness) are almost as bad as whatever I'm taking them for.

Whatever it is, it seems to be going round, world-wide. I've had it, my sister had it, my friend's getting it, half the kids (and teachers) at my daughter's school have it, and it seems whoever I talk to has it, or is just getting over it.

Hope you feel better again, soon! Snuggle down, sleep as much as you can, read some nice ficcies and just take care of yourself.

Thanks, I'm starting to feel better. My concentration is still not good, which means that writing is an exercise in frustration, but at least I don't fall asleep every time I sit still for a few minutes.

Glad to hear you're feeling much better. I know how exhausting something like this can be. And it's *definitely* going round. My friend got it, and today my massage therapist (that makes house-visits - very useful that...) called and cancelled our session because he's sick in bed...

Take care of yourself. Make sure you get help and pampering and don't worry about writing and stuff. Health is more important.

I hope you feel better, soon. I just got over a cold, and I know exactly how much it sucks. Mine wasn't even as bad as what you've got. Keep trying to rest as much as you can. *snugs*

Thanks, Sharon. I'm glad your cold wasn't as bad as this - whatever it is - that I've got. At least it seems to be finally clearing up.

Oh - while I'm thinking of it - do you still have a bunch of fan-subbed anime available through Streamload? I finally got around to signing up for a Streamload account, and I was thinking it might be a good time to take a look at a new series or two... I've heard so much about FMA, for example...

I have a ton of anime in my Streamload account, including all of FMA. If you give me you Streamload account name, I can send it to you. Let me know if there's anything else you're looking for, too. I have a lot of older series in Streamload.

Bleach is one of my favorite shows that is currently running. Is there any specific kind of series you like?

My Streamload account name is calic0cat

Other than FMA, I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I've been specifically wanting to see. My taste in anime is fairly eclectic. I've enjoyed everything from Sailor Moon (fansubbed, not the dreadful North American dubs) to Ranma 1/2 to Gaogaigar to GW to Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure to Record of Lodoss War, with a guilty fondness for Bubblegum Crisis and Kodomo no Omocha and sneaking amusement for Wedding Peach. Neo Genesis Evangelion, on the other hand, I did *not* like.

In general, I tend to prefer shows with an upbeat/hopeful ending as opposed to those where everybody ends up dead, and I usually prefer a minimum of chibi scenes. I generally like some action and an overall plot, but there's exceptions like Ranma 1/2 and Kodomo no Omocha (I have *no* idea why that series sucked me in at the time) in there too. Like I said, pretty eclectic tastes. I'd be glad to hear some recommendations.

I sent you FMA and a bunch of other shows that I liked. The only one that you might be iffy on is X/1999, because a lot of people do end up dying in it. It was my favorite anime for a long time, just because the animation is so very beautiful. It does have a cool story to it, and one of my favorite seiyuu (Junichi Suwabe) is in it.

I sent Samurai Deeper Kyo and Peacemaker Kurogane because I like samurai stories, and those are two of my favorite. SDK has a great seiyuu cast, too. If you listen hard enough, you'll get to hear Heero, Duo and Zechs. ^_^ PMK is also very interesting. It's about the Shinsengumi, which has become a favorite subject of mine. ^_~

I also sent you Last Exile. I haven't finished watching it yet, but what I've seen, I really like. The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head that you might like is Saiyuki. If I remember it when I get to work, I'll send that to you, too.

I literally have hundreds of series in Streamload, thanks to a really sweet friend. ^_____^

Ok , just realized how unfeeling my last post sounded and I must apologize. I really do hope you are feeling better whether you write my favouites or not. The bacterial crud that had been circulating this spring has been nasty. Get well and stay well. Nothing else matters. Zsuzsu
