I updated my site late last night/early this morning. After posting the motorcycle pic commission from Kracken here, I missed uploading that update to my site but it's finally up now. Also, LWH #99 is now on my site, as is the page with the rules for my fic contest (now called the GW WIP Contest - with WIP obviously standing for Works-in-Progress). I commissioned several banners for the contest from Kracken; they're available on the rules page in case anyone wants to use one to link to the GW WIP Contest.

Guest fic updates include Chapter 13 of Chiya's "Seeking the Light", Chapters 35 & 36 of CleverYoungThief's "Requiem", Number 3 of Sol's "Echoes and Postscripts", and Sol's oneshot "Try It Just This Once".

A few nominations for the fic contest are beginning to trickle in. I'm undecided as to whether I should post a list of nominations or not. It would help fics get that crucial second nomination but at the same time it would sort of invalidate the whole point of requiring two nominations in the first place, namely that a fic has to be good enough to have stuck in at least two people's minds as one that they really wanted to see finished despite the lack of recent updates...

Do you need the contest announced anywhere?

I did post an announcement to the mailing lists that I'm on, though that was before it had a name and a page up on my site. Other than that, I haven't posted it elsewhere. If you have an appropriate venue in mind, feel free to pass on the word. Just let me know where you announce it so that if anyone else asks about that venue, I'll know it's already been announced there.

The contest page, including banners, is at http://calic0cat.freeservers.com/gw_wip_contest_rules.html

I assume you're on 1x2_ml and SDDI; those two are the only two I'm really on. I could pose the link in my journal, if you'd like.

Yes, I'm on both of those lists. Feel free to post the link in your journal if you want to. The more the word spreads, the more nominations will come in and hopefully the more stories will get completed. *crosses fingers*

I'd say yes, post a list of nominations. In my (well, somewhat limited experience) contests where the web-mistress posts the nominations, or lets us read the stories, seem to generate more interest, more nominations, more excitement, and more reader participation.

Considering that probably a lot of people have stories that they would nominate if they could just remember who wrote it or where they read it, I guess that posting the nominations would probably be a good idea. Maybe it will help nudge a few more people into sending in some nominations.
