I actually updated a few things yesterday and forgot to post to LJ when I did it. Part 15 of Karen's "Dragonheart" went up and I posted my Holiday Series "Fall Fair" commission from Liz on the fanart page.

Today, just one new update. Life with Heero #83 "Nice" has now been posted to the usual places.

Duo turned off the television and sat up on the couch. "C'mon, Heero. There's nothing worth watching. We might as well call it a night."

Heero stared in shock as Duo stretched and rose. The front of his body, so warm and comfortable a moment ago, now felt distinctly chilled with Duo's body no longer pressed against it. "But... we don't have to watch television..." he protested uncertainly. He had thought that they'd spend the evening kissing and making out on the couch...

'Maybe he's finally tired of settling for just that... Maybe he doesn't want to get started only to have to stop because *I* can't take things very far before the damn control training kicks in... Maybe he's fed up with being disappointed time after time...'

"No, we don't. But if we're going to spend the evening *not* watching television, we might as well do it someplace more comfy than the couch." Duo held one hand out to Heero. "So c'mon."

Heero sat up and gave him a confused look. He didn't understand what Duo was getting at. It didn't sound like they were talking about the same thing. "You want to take a nap?"

Duo sighed and crouched in front of Heero, resting his hands on Heero's thighs and looking him straight in the eyes. "No, I don't want to take a fucking nap. I think it's time we rescinded that 'no-kissing-in-bed' rule. It's not like we're worried about getting carried away and taking things too far, too fast, at this point."

Heero winced and dropped his gaze. Duo was getting fed up with waiting. "I know. That's my fault and I'm sorry. This isn't fair to you. I'll understand if you..." he began. A forceful kiss cut off his apology.

"None of that," Duo told him firmly when the kiss ended. Forehead pressed to his, lips almost close enough to brush Heero's as he spoke, Duo demanded, "Do you trust me?"

"*What?!*" Heero blurted. He was so off-balance and confused right now that he had no idea what Duo was getting at.

"Do you trust me?"

Heero answered, "With my life." He still had no idea what the hell brought this on but he *did* know the answer to that particular question.

"Then why the fuck would you think I'd be prepared to give up on you, on *us*, just because of a few little delays along the way?! Why can't you just damn well trust that I'm capable of a little patience and understanding?"

Blinking in the face of Duo's thoroughly exasperated demand, Heero was left floundering for a response. He hadn't thought of it that way. It wasn't that he didn't *trust* Duo... "I... You... I'm sorry?"

That got him another of those hard, fast, demanding kisses. "I told you - none of that 'I'm sorry' crap, Heero. Just have a little faith in me, okay?"

Heero swallowed hard and nodded faintly. He hadn't meant to imply a lack of faith in Duo. He just felt so guilty about holding their relationship back...

"Now c'mon. Let's take the make-out session to bed where we'll have a little more space and comfort." Duo rose from his crouch and held his hand out to Heero again.

This time, Heero took it and let Duo pull him to his feet. "Bed sounds good." He still wasn't sure what Duo had meant about not worrying about going too far, too fast though. Not if he wasn't referring to Heero's problem...

He debated asking all the way upstairs and while they got ready for bed. Right up until Duo stripped for bed. *Completely* stripped, boxers and all, before crawling into bed. Then, he understood.

Duo was saying that there *were* no restrictions anymore. That whenever he was ready, Duo was too. Ready to take things however far they progressed at whatever speed it happened.

Taking a deep breath, Heero dropped his own boxers and slid under the covers. There were a few awkward moments as they both hesitated uncertainly, lying face to face and waiting for the other to make the first move. It seemed odd, somehow, making this change. Moving their physical relationship, mild though it might be, into the bedroom.

Finally, Duo muttered, "Oh, for god's sake..." and dove in for a deep kiss. Familiar territory, often and pleasurably explored.

Opening his mouth to Duo's probing tongue, Heero relaxed and gave himself up to the sensation of their tongues tangling, advancing, retreating, caressing. By the time the kiss finally ended, he and Duo were comfortably tangled together, bare skin pressed to bare skin from chest to toe.

"This feels... nice..." Heero murmured softly, his fingers tentatively exploring Duo's body without any clothing whatsoever to get in the way for the first time.

Duo snorted quietly, "*Nice*? I'd rate it a damn sight higher than 'nice', Yuy."

Soaking in the feel of Duo's warm, solid body pressed so intimately against his own, Heero had to agree. He might not be ready to take things all the way yet but, small though it might be, this was a *very* nice step in the right direction.

There might be better words to describe it but "nice" felt pretty damn good.

Hey! You surprised me with this one... when in the world did you have time to sneak in a LWH?
Leave it to Duo to face the obvious, and for Heero not to get it! *grin* Nice is very much the word! ^__~

Err, wrote it, edited it, and posted it in the last... 2 1/2 hours. *snicker*

Was actually *trying* to work on that other contest fic I need to finish (you know the one I mean...). Wasn't getting anywhere. Decided maybe I should take a look at something else for a while. Figured the LWH fans were probably getting ready to lynch me, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Right decision, obviously. Just goes to show that when the muse decides to cooperate, it's wise to give in and write what it wants you to...

*sage nod* "The muse is always right". I've learned that the hard way! ^__~

Just leaving them to their privacy... *grin* They were due for a little bit of progress, even it is only a *very* little bit...

Finally got my computer back, I've been meaning to leave you a message... I love your writing. Especially Winning Duo. That was the cause of several homework assignments being left undone. lol. Anyway, more later, must go eat dinner now. :)

Thanks! Glad you like my stories. Though I can't say I'm entirely happy to be the cause of skipping homework assignments! That tends to have nasty consequences at some point in time... At least based on my own past experiences... :P

Naw, it's no biggie, I have fairly good grades. I'm not worried, somehow I tend to not put much effort into some of my classes and still come out with an A. Other's, of course, I have to put a effort into. I wouldn't skip those though, so it's ok.
I finally had no hw and read your Fragments series the other day. Awesome! You're a great writer :) Anyway, on to more reading!

Glad you enjoyed "Fragments"! That was a very major undertaking so it's always nice to know that people enjoyed reading it.

Woohoo! More LWH! Very nice indeed! Maybe Duo being ready to move to the next level will help Heero to overcome his control training, especially since he's finally realized that Duo will wait for him. It was cute when they were both naked in bed, lying face to face and neither one of them were willing to take the first step. I love this story and I can't wait for the next part! Thanks!

I also just read Kindergarten Heero #6....I know you posted it awhile ago but RL has me in a stranglehold. I'm glad Heero and Duo finally got to meet. I enjoyed the interaction between Heero and Duo, well actually between all four characters, and I'm glad you included the background information and how everyone fits together. I haven't seen the movie in a long time and I've forgotten a lot of the story. Anyway, I look forward to the next part! Thanks Calic0cat!

Glad you enjoyed the LWH installment! They were due for a bit of progress. And Duo's been doing a lot of thinking about how to decrease the stress factor and hopefully make things go a little bit smoother.

As for "Kindergarten Heero"... Glad you liked it! Lots of things left to happen in this story. As for not remembering the story from the movie - *grin* - well, let's just say that things went rather drastically off at a tangent once I made Duo Helen's uncle and killed off Leia. Nothing even remotely like that in the movie! There's going to be a number of things that really don't match the movie along with a lot of things that do.

Awwwww How Sweet!!

Nope, definitely haven't forgotten it! It just got temporarily back-burnered by all of the other things that I've been working on. Glad you enjoyed the latest installment!

Absolutely LOVED this part, but I have to know...action soon, yes? Nomi needs action, since Not a Clue is sort of...er...dead. The disk died on me, so I have to rewrite it all over again. x_o So until I get inspiration back, I re-read LWH all the time. ^^ We all need more! :D

Action? Well... we'll see... *grin*

As for the dead disk - what have you tried in terms of recovery? Any particular recovery program? Or is it so dead that you can't even get one of those to read it? I accidentally toasted one with a staticky hair brush once-upon-a-time and campus computer services recovered about 90% of what was on it... (Thank goodness since it had a half-finished essay on it...)
