Where the heck does the time go?!?
Oct. 18th, 2006 08:42 pmI can't believe how long it's been since I last posted here. Yikes. And it's been almost as long since I last browsed my flist. Double yikes. Guess I'm a little behind on the reading. *sweatdrops* RL has just been totally kicking my *ss lately. I've been swamped at work and, between evening Aquafit classes and Saturday yoga, I just can't seem to find much free time at home either. I've got a to-do list a mile long in RL, plus my even longer fandom-related list. Then add a new laptop and all the work involved in transferring my life to it from the old one, and, well... I've been a little busy. Ack.
Anyhow... my previously semi-cured writer's block has kicked back in full-force. Only having short chunks of time in which to write doesn't help matters, either. And I'm having a tough time getting used to the keyboard on my new laptop; it really, really sucks. The laptop (an HP Pavilion dv5000) in general, I like, but the keyboard... Blech. It feels weird and it can't seem to keep up with my typing speed (I haven't had so many typos since grade 9 typing class :P ). Thought I'd get used to it but that doesn't seem to be happening. May have to give in and plug a USB one in when I want to do any serious typing.
Since my usual take-a-break-and-hope-it-goes-away tactic doesn't seem to be helping with the writer's block, I'm going to try something different. Not sure how well it's going to work for me, since "drabble" and "Calic0cat fic" tend to be mutually exclusive, however, it seems to work for other people, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Maybe writing something totally unrelated will finally get the creative juices flowing again for my many stalled WIPs. *crosses fingers*
So... Here's your chance, folks. Request a drabble: give me a "mood" (sweet, fluffy, angsty) and a word or phrase as a prompt, either a couple of characters or one of my usual pairings, and a fandom, and I'll see what I can come up with. No guarantees since drabbles aren't exactly my usual thing, but I'll do my best. Eligible fandoms and pairings: GW (1x2 or 1x2x5), BtVS (Spike/Xander), TS (Jim/Blair), Ranma 1/2 (Ranma/Ryoga), or HP (Harry/Draco).

Er... this is quite possibly not what you meant, but....
Date: 2006-10-19 12:51 am (UTC)BtVS: Sweet. A nice get-together fic (first time), maybe through (fandom cliche, I know, sorry) a Willow-magicked-mistake (happiness if Giles has a role).
TS: Fluffy. Jim and Blair's hair (sorry! all over the cliches here...)
Ranma 1/2: Ryoga hears something in piglet form and decides to go for it...
