...is thankfully now over. Unless we end up with a second cutting, but we'll probably sell it off if we do, since the first cutting is about as perfect as hay can get, and there's enough of it to feed our two horses for the next year.

At any rate, I've been kind of busy with haying since my last posting; sorry about dropping off the radar again. :P I have been getting some writing done, though unfortunately only part of it has been for my existing WIPs. The remainder of it is, I'm very chagrined to admit, entirely new stories which may not ever be completed. Some of them aren't even in fandoms that I've previously written in. *sigh*

However, having long since learned my lesson about not denying my muse lest she become even more fickle and vanish entirely, I've skipped the whole ugly struggle to ignore unwanted bunnies and have just gone ahead and written the bloody things. Now, keeping in mind that these may never "go" anywhere... Does anyone actually want to read them anyway? Assuming, that is, that I clearly mark them as random bunnies of indeterminate future status? There are a couple that could possibly stand as one-shots... maybe... *eyes fic*

Not so much "I'll read anything" as "I'll try anything -- of yours".

I reserve the right to request more though . . . and speaking of, the Regency AU and the WitchWorld crossover . . .? ;) And of course, LWH! And Nerima, and . . . (/shameless begging)

And I'm curious about which fandoms . . .

The Regency AU will definitely be completed - eventually. Sooner or later, there will also definitely be more LWH. Mission: Nerima... well, it will be finished at some point, but I'm currently looking at overhauling several plot points to simplify things a bit; it's currently suffering from trying to be too many things at once.

The Witch World crossover, or rather the sequel to it (I'm assuming that you're talking about the GW one, though the same response actually applies to the TS one as well) is way, way down my list. I won't say that it will never be written (in either case), but I won't guarantee that it will, either. For some reason, the sequel ideas have never really gelled beyond a few rough notes and scattered paragraph fragments.

As for which fandoms... *groan* There's a few, but one in particular.

Well, you see, I have this bad habit of getting sucked into new fandoms as a reader when I read crossovers; some of those fandoms then send out waves of vicious little plot bunnies to attack my muse. This time, Capricious Purple Clarity's GW/HP crossover gets the initial readership blame, and a whole host of authors (Vorabiza, SilentAuror, Beren, Dan Kirk, and Janara to name just a few) get the credit/blame for thoroughly sucking me into the fandom as a reader. The plot bunnies are nobody's fault but my own. :P

Uh. Gee, I read HP but I don't know any of the authors you mentioned . . . well, except CPC (oh, and Beren); links, please? (Mind you, I tend to read Snape rather than Draco, but . . .)

(And yes, I did mean the GW one. ;) )

Oh, my, you haven't read any of the others? Prepare for some very good stories, then - assuming that you don't mind Harry/Draco, that is. Most of these have great Snapes in them, too.

Janara's author page at fanfiction.net (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/472569/). Her characters do tend to be OOC to varying degrees, but she's got some interesting plot ideas and a pretty good beta, so her writing's getting better all the time.

Dan Kirk's author page at Gay Authors (http://dkstories.gayauthors.org/). His two longest and completed works, "Harry Potter and the Sword of Gryffindor" and its sequel "Harry Potter and the Destiny of Prophecy" have a dark - but definitely not evil - Harry. Very long, very meaty reads. All of his HP stuff is great - solid writing and very believable character interpretations in general; I just hope that he eventually finishes his incomplete stories. *crosses fingers*

Silent Auror's author page at Skyehawke (http://archive.skyehawke.com/authors.php?no=646). Also has an LJ under the username [livejournal.com profile] silentauror. Very prolific author, believable character interpretations, lots of solidly canon-based stories. Mostly Harry/Draco, but there are some other pairings.

Vorabiza's stories are a little more scattered around. Most of them are available at Cipher () but there are a few others at The Silver Snitch (http://www.thesilversnitch.net/fic/viewuser.php?uid=1101). She also has a Yahoo!Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Vorabiza/). "Malfoy Flavor" is great, but my absolute fave is "Secrets" (aka the Book 7 that JKR *should* write, but probably won't).

When you get through with those (which will take a while!), feel free to ask for some more recs. I actually get to read a bit more than I write, since I've started printing fics out to take along when I go places knowing I'm going to have time to kill. It's cheaper than buying published books, and the writing's generally better too. :P

Oops, meant to go back and fill in the link for Vorabiza's page at Cipher, but I forgot. Here it is. (http://www.cipher-wotr.com/fanfiction/viewuser.php?uid=32) Hmm, not as many stories there as I thought there were... I guess her Yahoo!Group is probably the best bet to track down all of her stuff.

I can symapthise with that. I didn't even really like HP until i read her fic. Now i adore Draco a scary amount! *sheakes head*

I liked the first four books of HP, then the fifth one made me rather ambivalent when it was released. The sixth book came darn close to turning me off of the series entirely; I've still never sat down and given it a good, indepth, reading, as I usually do after the first dash through a good book. At any rate, it certainly wasn't a fandom that I intended to get involved with. It took a bunch of great fanfic authors - writers who explored the characters and situations in more dimensions than JKR herself seems to be interested in doing - to draw me into the HP fandom.

I said I'll read anything, but what I wanted to say was I'll read anything if I know the fandom. It's hard for me to get into things if I don't know the fandom at all. ^_^

Yeah, I probably could've worded that one a little better. I think most people stick to stories where they're at least vaguely familiar with the fandom. Like you said, it's tough to get into things if you don't know the fandom at all.

You know... I said anything too, but probably should have rethought that. I really do have to at least have a clue what the series is! ^^;

Yeah, at least passing familiarity with the fandom is pretty much a necessity. Poor choice of wording on that option.

It was a knee-jerk reaction. *grin*
'Of COURSE I'll read anything you write!!!'
*clicky clicky clicky*
'Uh.... wait a minute...'
