Well, my website is now running on the eFiction 2.0.2 script. So, if anyone notices any problems with it, please let me know. I waited till I was pretty sure most of the bugs had been squashed before upgrading, but that's no guarantee that there isn't still something just waiting to cause a problem. :P

Also, I've started to get caught up on posting stories. Posted my own TS gen fic, "They Must Be Related" (finally), Chapter 10 of Jayni's "Alone" (GW, post-war, 1x2), Chapter 35 of Hseru's "Eclipse of Dawn" (GW, fantasy AU, 1x2), Chapters 7 and 8 of yanagi's "The Price They Paid" (GW, post-war, 1x2, 3x4, 5+6) (still really, really behind on this one :P ), and two in-progress multi-part crossovers by new guest authors - Chapters 1-20 of Capricious Purple Clarity's "Harry Potter and the Secret Link" (GW/HP crossover, post-war (no EW), 1+2, 3+4, 5+?, HGRW, maybe DMHP), and Prologue-Chapter 19 of hoshi-tachi's "Akuryou" (GW/YGO crossover, 1+2, YY+Y). I'm still not quite caught up on the story posting, but at least I'm finally making some headway. Happy reading, folks!

Getting those updates done made me feel much more productive, and much less like I was getting so far behind that I'd never get caught up again.

But actually, the new eFiction upgrade makes story-posting pretty darn easy. No coding necessary, just cut-&-paste straight from the Word document into the WYSIWYG editor and it takes care of converting formatted text to HTML code automatically. I was using the WYSIWYG editor with the old version of the script, but it had a few quirks that occasionally required some time-consuming workarounds. Now, that's no longer the case.

Oh hey, internet-html-savvy person, while we're on this subject... I have a sort of 'trivia' question about that sort of thing that's been bugging me for ages, in the 'huh, how odd' sort of way. I noticed it in my own stuff some time back, and thought it was something I was doing, but I've since seen it in other stories. What is it with the word 'expression' that makes some kind of html thing put an under-score in front of the word? I see it on archives all the time, and I'm guessing it's some kind of conversion deal? O.o

This is great - I've been reading both crossovers and I love them. I'm glad I won't have to fight with FFN to read them anymore. Thankyou.

I don't spend much time cruising FFN (or Mediaminer, for that matter) for good stories anymore, unfortunately. I just don't have the time. But once in a while, I'll have a few free minutes but won't be in the mood to write, so I'll go take a quick look around. Sometimes, I get lucky and find something that looks promising. These two stories both definitely fit that criteria. I like to archive stories that aren't getting the exposure they deserve.

And I'm always happy to go take a look at a fic that's been recced by someone else who likes the same kinds of stories as me. *hint-hint*
