*looks at date on last entry and winces*

I really do not know where all the time goes... Anyway, here's a bit of an update, for those wondering what the heck I'm up to since I haven't been around much...

Other than a trip to see "Herbie: Fully Loaded" earlier this week (which was a lot of fun and a fitting addition to the Herbie series - if you enjoyed the previous Herbie movies, go see this one!), I've been working pretty steadily on my contributions for this year's (and last year's *cringes*) Moonridge Auction. I'm offering two stories again this year but, having learned from my mistake last year (my muse gets really, really uncooperative under pressure), both are completed fics, not write-to-order ones like last time. No GW on offer this time either, just TS - sorry to all the GW folks, but I've been trying to finish last year's promised GW fics and didn't have a chance to polish off any of the WIPs floating around on my hard drive.

Stuff I've been working on:

For this year's Moonridge Auction:
TS: gen short story, "Symbiosis" (complete!)
TS: faintly pre-slash story, still untitled (betaed and now undergoing revisions)
Stained glass suncatchers like those in my TS Light series (still not finished, and therefore not listed for the auction yet since I'm not sure how well they're going to turn out - I'm really out of practice)

For last year's Moonridge Auction (*is really, really embarrassed that these still aren't done - there's a reason I'm only offering already-complete fics this year!*):
GW: 1x2 fic for Veronika
Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
7,427 / 5,000
(148.0%)

GW: 1x2 fic for Ravensilver
Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
2,414 / 5,000
(48.0%)

Note: These two monsters are getting somewhere, finally, but progress is painfully slow and they both look like they're going to be a lot longer than originally anticipated (as you can see by the above word-counts, since those numbers are for the totally-completed part of the story only, not counting anything that's still undergoing massive revision or is in point form). I'd guaranteed a 5000 word minimum for the auction listings last year; if either of last year's auction winners would like to trade stories for something in the 5000-10000 word range and a closer finish date (and still including your requested elements), let me know and we'll work something out.

Other stuff:
- betaing Yanagi's "The Price They Paid"
- revising LWH (should have at least five more parts revised and up sometime this week)

Still on the to-do schedule for June/July:

Fics:
GW: LWH installment
GW: Kindergarten Heero (that 2/3 completed chapter is *mocking* me :P )
TS: Lifebond series
TS: Light series
GW: Holiday series (maybe)
GW: Sweeper Three revisions and new installment (maybe)

Website:
- moving balance of guest & contest fics from old site

Email:
- responding to feedback/LOCs from the past couple of months *winces*

Details on my Moonridge Auction donations (links lead to the auction item listing at TheFreeAuction website):

GM#221: 'Symbiosis', a completed Sentinel short story of approx. 5 pages. Gen, since Jim and Blair are both children in it. Summary: Set in an alternate history in which Burton's Sentinel-Guide research was recognized and widely accepted. The Sentinel-Guide partnership is well known in society as an equal relationship, with each partner providing grounding and control for the abilities of the other. Their sensory and empathic abilities are widely, though not universally, accepted and valued. Events bring together a young Jim and a very young Blair. Written from Naomi's POV, and set in 1973.

GW#228 - untitled story, a completed (though still untitled) story of just over 11,000 words (20+ pages). Technically gen though, if someone is really looking for them, there are a couple of very faint hints of possible pre-slash. Rating: On the high end of FRT ("Fan Rated Suitable for Teenagers") due to profanity and one specific scene of violence. Canon universe up to sometime after "Murder 101" (early fourth season), when the story begins with the two of them on the run. Heavy on the TS-style mysticism - spirit animals, blue dreams, Incacha, etc. - and focused almost exclusively on Blair and Jim. Blair POV.

GM#259: Pair of 8x10 matted Robert Bishop art prints, one timber wolf and one melanistic (black) jaguar. The prints were professionally matted by the studio. Measurement is for the matted print, not the print alone. A huge version of the jaguar print caught my eye while at an arts & crafts show a couple of weekends ago. I couldn't resist checking out Bishop's booth, and when I found the smaller version and a wolf print to go with it, I decided the coincidence was just too much to pass by, so I picked a pair up for the auction. These are beautifully detailed; the melanistic pattern is visible in the jaguar's coat, and individual hairs in the wolf's coat are clearly visible. Will ship internationally.

GM#138: Zine Lot #1: Three volumes of Whispers of the Heart slash anthologies: WotH III, WotH V, and WotH VII. All used, but in excellent condition. Will ship internationally.

GM#138-1: From Calic0cat (calic0cat@fastmail.fm): Zine Lot #2: Two slash anthologies: Angel on My Mind III and Whispers of the Heart VII. Used, but in excellent condition. Will ship internationally.

GM#138-2: From Calic0cat (calic0cat@fastmail.fm): Zine Lot #3: Three zines: Cascade Effect (anthology, labelled as gen but I would consider one story to be het), Holiday Happenings by Bast, Shar, and the HH Consortium (slash series collected as a novel), and Pictures of the Past by Katrina Bowen (slash novella). All used, but in excellent condition. Will ship internationally.

Time? There is some sort of invisible beast that follows me around and eats all mine. >_> I'm sure of it.
*looks at list*
You know... you're a little bit of a masochist, aren't you? *ducks* ^^;

You know... you're a little bit of a masochist, aren't you?

You're just noticing that fact? *looks at list and groans* And, as *you* are well aware, that's not even mentioning the half dozen or so half-finished GW fics kicking around on my hard drive... :P

I really need to win the lottery so I can stay home and write all day... *sigh*

Maybe you're going about it backwards? You need to convince the rest of the family to go away for a few days! ^^;

As long as you're still writing GW fic, we'll all still be here, waiting patiently for more. Take as much time as you need. *huggles*

Oh, I'm definitely still writing GW fic. That particular muse has just been being slightly less than cooperative for the last six months or so, so my production rate is way, *way* down from what it used to be. Instead of getting pages done per writing session, I get sentences, or maybe, if I'm really, *really* lucky, paragraphs. A couple of weeks totally on my own, with nothing to do but write, would be very nice sometime soon; I might actually get the creative juices flowing if I had days of uninterrupted writing time. Unfortunately, I doubt that's going to happen. :P I have the vacation time to spare, I just can't afford to go stay at a hotel for a couple of weeks to get the complete peace and quiet that I need!

take it easy!!!

I'm trying to pace myself, and trying to work on stories that can be finished and marked off the "to-do" list so that I feel like I've really gotten something accomplished. Everything *will* get done - eventually. It's just taking a *lot* longer than I'd like.

hey, don't worry. It's true, it's nice to feel you have acomplished something, but it's also important to be in good condition. I can't write anything if i'm too busy, my brain just burns itself! So, if you can have the time, at least try to take things easy and remember that you need to be OK to write. Creativity works at its own pace, let it be!
We will be waiting patiently, promise!!! Beside, you're to great to be mad at you :P
