GW WIP Contest/Challenge
May. 11th, 2005 01:18 amWell, I'm seriously late in bringing up the subject, but...
I've decided to extend the deadline for the GW WIP Contest/Challenge to September 1st, 2005. That will give the rest of the authors who agreed to participate but haven't managed to finish their stories the whole summer to give it another shot, which will hopefully make things a little easier for those who are in college/university. I'll be sending out an email message to the participating authors sometime in the next couple of days to make sure that they all know about the extension. Hopefully, we'll get a few more stories completed this way. *crosses fingers*

Date: 2005-05-10 10:51 pm (UTC)Are all the participating fics up on your site? For some reason, I was thinking there were more...then again, I'm losing brain cells at record numbers so maybe I'm mistaken.
Thanks again for having the contest!!! It is a great idea!!

Date: 2005-05-12 10:00 am (UTC)No, not all of them are there. The missing stories are ones that I've asked authors to send to me, have been assured *would* be sent, but have never received. I didn't want to nag, so I let it go for a while, then somehow never got around to bugging them again. One more thing for my "to-do" list.
I'm glad that you decided to extend the deadline for the contest. I also hope that a few more stories get completed that way.
I hope so too. The contest wasn't a complete flop because we *did* get a few new chapters and completed stories out of it, but it wasn't quite as successful as I'd hoped. Maybe giving people the summer to work on the remaining stories will help and maybe it won't, but it's worth a try.

Date: 2005-05-12 10:08 am (UTC)My new site isn't officially open yet, but they're up there under "The Progression Arc" (http://efiction.calic0cat.net/viewstory.php?sid=172). I never got around to putting them up at my old site, and it will be slowly disappearing as I get the new one ready to replace it anyway.
