When you're a computer techie and the week starts off with a four-hour Internet outage (and your organization relies on the net for access to an operations-critical off-site shared server), you know that it's going to be a *loooonnnnggg* week. Especially when the Internet finally comes back up and the server itself goes down less than an hour later. *insert tension-releasing primal scream here*

Did one XP upgrade today, have two more to do by Wednesday. Have 10 new PCs coming in from Dell sometime in that same time frame, which need to be set up for installation ASAP (need all Microsoft's Internet related crap stripped out and Opera, Quicktime Alternative, Real Alternative, Acrobat Reader, and a couple of other programs installed). Booked Thursday and Friday off months ago for another horse show and am wondering how much I'm going to enjoy that while I'm thinking about all the bloody work waiting for me back at the office.

I picked up my new truck (dark grey Dodge Dakota Sport Quad Cab 4x4) on Saturday and today I was supposed to pick up the permanent ownership and the hitch sleeve and ball that were forgotten. Also planned to get a third key cut so I could leave one with my parents in case I happened to lock my purse in the car. Went to the dealer and got the ownership okay, found out that I had to be there before 4 in order to get the key cut (I don't get off work till 4:30 normally), discovered that they didn't have the hitch sleeve and ball (which is kind of necessary in order to get the bloody trailer to the horse show this week!). So now I have to go back tomorrow or Wednesday and hope they've actually got the stuff I need. *mutter, mutter, grumble*

Fortunately, there *were* a couple of good things today. Well, more than a couple - I've had several positive responses from authors for the GW WIP Contest! I'm pleasantly surprised by the response so far. I'll try to get a nomination/participation update out tomorrow or Wednesday.
