Weekly fic update may be late...

I've been posting the weekly fic update on Sundays lately, but it's going to be Monday (or maybe even Tuesday) before I get it ready this week. Horse show tomorrow, so today was lost to preparations and tomorrow's going to be a total write-off too. The show starts at 11, but it's a two-hour drive and we need to be there an hour before for registration, so that means we have to be out of here between 7:30 and 8:00 - and we probably won't get home till 7 or 8 at night. At which point, we still have to unload everything so I can drive my truck to work on Monday, sans trailer, harness, and other show supplies. :P

I don't really even want to go to this show (long drive to get there and we get lumped in with a class that we don't really fit into very well), but my dad does, and since he's concerned that this may be the last year that he's up to doing the whole thing (he's in his 70s and has heart and blood pressure problems that have to be watched), I feel kind of obligated to go along with his wishes. We bought new harness this year, just to be able to show the horses as a team, but I have trouble handling them together (they're not particularly bad or anything, my hands just won't take the stress of two horses pulling on the lines), so once my dad can't do it, that'll probably be the end of showing them, at least as a team.

But it's really a lousy time of month for being stuck in the middle of a field someplace with the nearest portajohn a considerable hike away, and the nearest real bathroom even further. :P Cranky, crampy, nauseous, headachey, tired... I am really, really not in the right mood for this...

Anyway, the writing time is probably going to be a bit scarce for the next few weeks. This weekend is completely shot, next weekend we're scheduled to take one horse and the wagon to a parade on Saturday (and possibly a show on Sunday as well :P ), the week after that we're supposed to be going to an equine exhibition (just as attendees, not exhibitors, thank goodness), the week after that my mom and I are supposed to be headed off to Stratford for a couple of days to see productions of As You Like It (with music by The Barenaked Ladies) and The Tempest, then we're possibly going to a horse show on Thanksgiving (Canadian, that is) weekend... *eyes list* Hmm, that really, really doesn't look very promising in terms of writing time, does it? *sighs*
